A couple of months back, I shared my thoughts on my top subscription box, My Crate. Soon afterward, withdrawal hit!

In this YouTube video, I detail my mission to discover a UK counterpart to this fantastic Christmas Subscription box and unbox two of the Etsy Mystery boxes I purchased. FYI: I was given a £50 Etsy Gift card at a Christmas in July event. I used it to buy these items, which I selected personally.

But first, if you haven't already – please Subscribe!

Here are the complete details and review of both boxes.

CallabyCrafts Christmas Stationery Mystery Box

Among the two, this one slightly let me down, oddly enough because it's the one that actually features pictures of the contents in the Etsy listing. The box was made up almost entirely of washi tape, although I did really like the stickers – they were clearly bulk ordered from Asia and resold.

In reality, not a single item in this box was handmade or uniquely designed; it was all just repackaged. If you want a variety box of Christmas tapes and stickers, this is the box for you – but not for me. It wasn't really worth the £16.20 I spent on it.

Wink Design Xmas UK Mystery Box

Now THIS is a mystery box. Not only do I believe I got my £20.00 worth, but I was also extremely impressed with the quality and quantity of everything in this box. All items were crafted/designed by Wink Design UK, likely leftover stock from Christmas last year (or the year prior – I don't mind, it's REALLY CHRISTMASSY).

Plus, it's very British! (Sprouts, Post Box, Gin, the phrase ‘Happy Christmas'). I was highly impressed with everything in this box (as you can see from the video) and would gladly order again for a different set of Wink Design Christmas items (perhaps I'll wait till the new year once they've updated their 2019 stock).

So, while I'm still seeking the ideal replacement for My Christmas Crate, I'm content, at least for now.
