Your Facebook archive consists of entries you’ve hidden from public and friends’ access, which you can still examine personally.

Each Facebook member possesses an archive in their profile enabling them to relocate material away from their timeline without erasing it. Archived content can subsequently be brought back to visible status should you decide for it to be accessible and seen.

In this guide, we’re not just explaining how to locate your archive but also how to transfer content into it for secure keeping.

Locating Your Archived Items

  1. Select the menu icon located at the bottom right of the display
  2. Proceed to your profile page and press the three dots button just beneath your profile image
  3. Choose ‘Archive’ from the list

This will bring up a menu displaying any stored posts, alongside an option to view your archived Facebook stories, and access to the trash bin for items and posts you have discarded.

Any elements in the archive can be reinstated to full visibility on your profile by selecting them and then clicking on ‘Restore’. Items in your trash will be entirely removed after 30 days.

Steps to Archive a Post

Archiving is possible only for your own posts. You cannot modify or alter the visibility of a post made by another individual.

To archive one of your posts, tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the post and pick ‘Move to Archive’ from the prompt.

It’s as simple and swift as that!
