Get Festive with Scandinavian Table Decor for Christmas

I’ve been captivated by Nordic and Scandi inspired Christmas ornaments and aesthetics ever since my recent visit to IKEA, where they already had an incredible array of decorations on display. There’s something utterly charming about the minimalist, rustic yet understated design of Scandi Christmas decor that I find highly attractive. So, I thought I’d share my ideas on how to set up a Christmas table with a Scandi Christmas theme – here are some fantastic items, along with recommendations, to help you achieve the look you desire (it’s amazingly straightforward).

Begin with a tablecloth or a runner. Opt for something primarily solid-colored with some stitching or geometric patterns; here are a few examples from Ragged Rose.

If bold isn’t your preference, consider a white base with red stitching or even grey stitching.

If you’re not inclined to completely cover your table or if you have a lovely rustic wooden table (even better!), think about using a Table Runner or simply Placemats.

Once you have your base, the next step is to consider the place settings themselves. Traditionally, simplicity is key. Ceramic White or Slate Grey always makes an excellent choice.
