A few years back, my brother vanished to Australia without much farewell, only reaching out sporadically. Alright, I might be exaggerating. He relocated to Australia, skipped the farewell gathering, messaged once a month, and returned after a year. But that sounds just as dramatic, right? Perhaps not, but I’m still irked. Why am I miffed? He missed . Therefore, discovering that folks in Australia celebrate Yuletide in July thrilled me! I could enjoy one of my favorite holidays in the summertime? Count me in! So how do you orchestrate an impeccable Christmas in July? Continue reading to discover how.

Summer Christmas

Fire Up the Grill

Since Christmas Day lands on December 25th, which is the height of the Australian summer, it’s scorching! This heat makes it ideal for having a seafood barbeque, or you could opt for a chilled traditional English Christmas dinner. Personally, I would go for the barbeque with seafood, accompanied by some cool jellies and jams to give it a festive touch.

Artificial Everything

If you’re accustomed to real trees and snowfall, you’ll need to improvise. A small artificial tree and some faux snow can create the illusion of a true Christmas. The good part is, you don’t need lights; sunlight with a few glittery ornaments can mimic the twinkling lights. Skip the electric bill altogether—use solar lights and candles instead.

Adorn the Yard

If your usual approach is to deck out the interior for Christmas, flip the script and decorate the outside. With the arrival of spring, garden centers are filled with attractive lights and decorations. With a bit of creativity, you can fashion a tropical Christmas garden. Reflective pieces with solar lights can mimic sparkling snow. Adding some crushed glass on soil not only simulates snow but also keeps snails and slugs away from your prized plants.

Contribute to Charity

Christmas often brings out the best in people, making Christmas in July a wonderful time to extend some generosity. The warmer weather makes it easier to volunteer, so why not dedicate some time to local charities? Summertime is ideal for charities to repair buildings and prepare for the colder months. Remember to wear a Santa hat or reindeer antlers to show your festive spirit.

Engage the Family

Christmas is more than gifts; it’s about family. Celebrating Christmas in July is perfect for gathering family, exchanging small presents, and enjoying quality time. I don’t know about your family, but mine would absolutely love this idea! Including the family ensures more enjoyment and shared activities.
