In the name of the father, the son, and the house of Gucci, Good Morning Vogue is offering a sneak peek into the realm of House of Gucci wardrobe designer Janty Yates. Raven Smith met with Yates in London to chat about outfitting Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, among others, for Ridley Scott’s much-anticipated movie. Yates also provided Good Morning Vogue with an early glimpse of rare images and sequences from the feature. Within London’s Gore Hotel, Yates elaborates on the Gucci aesthetic of the film’s era, designed by the late Maurizio Gucci, as “curved and earth-toned.” “Tom Ford altered the landscape completely!” she remarks. While Gaga indeed wears some original Gucci items in the film, Yates sought vintage suppliers and archival institutions for numerous notable ensembles and loaded Gaga’s styles with accessories. “She had 54 screenplay days,” Yates states, “and she never wore the same look twice, not even an earring.”
